The Sacrament of Baptism

                                                              
       The Sacrament of Baptism is the beginning of life – supernatural life. While we are all born of our human parents, Baptism gives us a new life, a higher life, with God in Heaven. Because of original sin, Jesus instituted the Sacrament of Baptism, the immersion, pouring or sprinkling of water, to apply to each individual soul, the atonement which He made on the Cross for original sin. He holds this gift of Baptism out to us, hopefully, so that original sin may disappear, God may be present in the soul, and we may share in His sanctifying grace.  Please note that Baptisms are not celebrated during Lent, and prior attendance at a Baptism Preparation Class is required. To register for Baptism, schedule a Baptism Class for the parents and godparents*, and familiarize you with the necessary requirements for the celebration of Baptism, kindly call the Parish Office. We strongly suggest you make arrangements as early as possible.
