PSR Volunteer Information

Dear Volunteer,

Thank you for volunteering to serve the children of our Religious Education Program! We also thank you in advance for your full compliance in completing the following Diocesan Requirements for all volunteers working with children. Please be aware that this process takes time and you are not permitted in the building with children until the vetting process is complete. 

All volunteers working with children are required to complete the following:

1. Read the Diocese of Metuchen Code of Pastoral Conduct which can be found on the Diocese of Metuchen’s website: https://diometuchen.org/documents/2020/2/CODE%20OF%20PASTORAL%20CONDUCT%203-26-12.pdf  . 2. All volunteers must complete and return the attached Diocese of Metuchen Volunteer Form. https://diometuchen.org/documents/2020/2/volunteer%20app%202%20pages%202020%20002.pdf If you are volunteering as a classroom catechist or aide you must also complete the additional part for the parish file: https://diometuchen.org/documents/2020/2/catechist%20application%202020.pdf
3. ALL first time volunteers must be fingerprinted for The Diocese of Metuchen. Current Department of Education Employees (DOE) must provide a copy of their DOE approval. All others must make an immediate appointment to be fingerprinted with Idento-GO (see attached form and directives).

4. All volunteers working with children are required to attend the next available Protecting God’s Children Virtus Workshop. Sessions are held at St. Ambrose Parish and other parishes throughout the Diocese  https://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/reg_list2.cfm?theOrgID=17046&theme
