Sacrament of Marriage

       Congratulations on your prospective marriage at St. Ambrose Church! It is recommended that couples begin preparation for their wedding when you become engaged, or one year prior to the date of your marriage. Weddings are celebrated within a Mass or Ceremony and we also recommend couples confirm their requested date on the Church calendar, before confirming details with any venue.

       Preparation for a Marriage within the Catholic Church requires us to secure specific Civil and Church documents, along with canonical forms and paperwork, within one year of your date of marriage, which include securing recent copies of sacramental history, F.O.C.C.U.S. testing (premarital inventory administered on-line), and Pre Can/God’s Plan for Marriage. A priest or deacon will be assigned, a file will be created for you, and the Director of Music will be scheduled. The Parish Office will assist you in explaining the details of marriage preparation, scheduling appointments with the priest or deacon, discuss church fees and timely remittance, and will be available to answer all your questions.
